Welcome to The Transforming Words Foundation. By placing an order, buying an event ticket, entering a competition, or making a donation on our website, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. General Overview & Consumer Rights
As a UK-registered charity, we aim to ensure complete clarity regarding all purchases made through our website. Statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 remain unaffected.
2. Physical Products (Books)
- Cancellation & Returns Window: You have the right to cancel your purchase of physical books within 14 calendar days of receiving your item without providing a reason.
- Condition for Return: To receive a full refund, items must be returned unused, undamaged, and in their original saleable condition.
- Return Shipping: Unless an item is proven faulty or sent in error, you are responsible for paying the return postage costs. We recommend using a trackable shipping service.
- Refund Processing: Once received and inspected, refunds will be credited back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. Shipping charges on the original order are non-refundable unless the item arrived damaged or defective.
3. Event Tickets (Digital Downloads)
- Delivery: Event tickets are issued as downloadable digital assets upon successful payment completion.
- Refunds & Cancellations: Ticket purchases are non-refundable once issued, except in the event of cancellation or substantial rescheduling of the event by The Transforming Words Foundation.
- Transfers: If you can no longer attend an event, tickets may be transferred to another individual upon contacting us prior to the event date.
4. Competition Entries
- Nature of Sale: Competition entries are entry fees into specific fundraising draws/contests.
- Non-Refundable Status: Entry fees are strictly non-refundable once the entry confirmation/receipt with entry details has been issued, except where required by law or in the event that the competition is cancelled by the charity without a winner being declared.
5. Charitable Donations
- Non-Refundable Policy: Under UK charity law (Charities Act), donations made to The Transforming Words Foundation are treated as irrevocable gifts and are strictly non-refundable.
- Exceptions: Refunds for donations will only be considered under exceptional circumstances, such as proven unauthorized card use or technical duplicate transactions. Requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the transaction.
6. Processing Refunds & Delays
If an approved refund has not appeared in your account after confirmation:
- Re-check your bank or credit card transaction history.
- Contact your card provider or banking institution, as processing delays of 3–5 business days are standard.
- If you have completed these steps and still have not received your funds, please contact our administrative team.
